My name is Stephanie and I am in the Advanced Standing Clinical Social Work program at Salisbury University. I previously earned my BA in Social Work from University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Before transitioning into the mental health field I spent many years working as a preschool teacher. Although, I loved teaching -I had a deep passion in creating connections and wanting to help others.
My therapeutic approach centers on empowering clients through empathy, active listening, and a deep respect for their individual experiences. I recognize that each person's story is unique, and therefore, therapy should not follow a one-size-fits-all model. Drawing from a person-centered framework, I plan to integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems theory, mindfulness and a strengths-based perspective to create a supportive and collaborative environment tailored to each individual's needs.
