I believe everyone has inherent strengths, even when those strengths can be hard to see during challenging times. I also believe our experiences don’t happen in a vacuum; the relationships, cultures, communities, and circumstances around us shape how we see ourselves and the choices available to us. Counseling, to me, is a collaborative process for identifying and building on those strengths so you can move toward the life you want — one that reflects your values, priorities, dreams, and goals.
Before becoming a counselor, I worked as a journalist and professional communication coach, experiences that taught me the value of listening closely, asking thoughtful questions, and finding clarity through the stories we tell, the language we use, and the perspectives we choose to take. My approach is conversational, collaborative, and practical. Therapy can be a place to work through something that’s been weighing on you, solve a specific problem, navigate a transition, learn more about yourself, or pursue a goal. I’ll listen, ask questions, and challenge you when I think it might help. My goal is for you to leave counseling with greater clarity, confidence, and a stronger sense of your ability to move forward.
