Chelsea Cooley

I first studied psychology to better understand myself, but my decision to pursue a Master’s in Social Work comes from a belief in bodhicitta—using compassion to alleviate suffering. Now more than ever, our society needs compassion and values beyond the material. These are themes I explore with clients, using a strengths-based approach to identify personal attributes, positive relationships, and fulfilling hobbies to problem-solve life’s challenges.

My clinical interests include positive psychology and mindfulness-based interventions like ACT, DBT, and MBSR. I work well with those learning stress management techniques, pondering existential questions, or grappling with problematic substance use.

I hold degrees from the University of Kansas (Psychology) and New Mexico State University (Public Health) and am pursuing a dual MSW. I’ve worked in research and program management at Stanford, Brown, and Mass General Brigham, among others. A Registered Yoga Teacher since 2015, I also facilitate yoga and mindfulness groups at recovery centers and wellness retreats.
