"Aʻohe hana nui ka aluʻia" — no task is too big when done together. This saying reflects how I see the therapeutic process: something we navigate together, with curiosity, trust, and compassion. Aloha, my name is Uakea, and I'm a Licensed Master Social Worker in New York. I come from a small, rural community where mental health stigma can leave people feeling stuck when navigating challenges and trauma. I also come from a place where every being is valued and where healing happens in community, not in isolation.
I work with adults at all stages of life, with a particular commitment to supporting BIPOC communities. My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, conversational, and authentic. Drawing from mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT, and somatic approaches, we explore you as a whole person — your experiences, relationships, culture, body, and the systems that shape your life. My hope is that therapy becomes a space where you feel understood, empowered, and supported as we work together toward meaningful change.
