Hi, my name is Shavani Mercedes, and I’m a counselor-in-training currently pursuing my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling at SUNY Old Westbury. I’m passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and understood.
My approach is collaborative and tailored to your needs. I draw from evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and Person-Centered Therapy, as well as psychodynamic insights to help us explore how past experiences shape present challenges. Together, we’ll work on building resilience, finding clarity, and developing tools that fit your life.
I believe therapy is a partnership, and your voice and feedback are central to our work. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, relationship struggles, or personal growth, I would be honored to walk alongside you as you uncover your strengths and move toward the life you envision.
