Whatever you bring into this room, whatever you have done or not done, wanted or not wanted, it will be met with acceptance, not judgment. No topic is off limits. You do not need the perfect words to begin. You can bring the real thing, even the part you have never said out loud, and you will not carry it alone.
I believe people heal in relationship, not through insight alone, and that new behavior comes from new experience, not new understanding. My hope is simple: that you leave feeling a little less alone in whatever you came in carrying.
Before training as a therapist I lived a few other lives: Navy rescue swimmer, conservatory-trained actor with an MFA from Rutgers, portrait photographer, college professor, entrepreneur. I am still an artist, and I especially love working with performers and other creatives, people who know what it costs to build a self for an audience. That winding path has widened my ability to sit with people from backgrounds and lives very different from my own. What is most personal to you is also the most universal, and that is where I meet you.
