Hi, I’m Imaan (she/her), a therapist-in-training at Sol Health and an MSW candidate at Columbia University’s School of Social Work. Starting therapy can feel intimidating—I aim to make it feel like a grounded, judgment-free conversation that moves you forward. I work relationally, honoring how culture, family, and environment shape our stories. In practice, that means pairing insight with practical tools: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), narrative reframes, and mindfulness, all within a trauma-informed, person-centered approach.
I have experience in supporting those navigating anxiety, depression, personality disorders, neurodivergence, and big life changes. My background spans child welfare, inpatient psychiatry, and community case management, which keeps my work realistic and compassionate. I value cultural humility, collaboration, and meeting you where you are. Together, we’ll define what “better” looks like for you, build toward it step by step, celebrate wins, and make space for hope and sustainable, meaningful change.
