As a first generation Chinese American who grew up in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, I know what it’s like to feel misunderstood, unseen, or out of place. Growing up, mental health wasn’t something my family talked about, and I often carried feelings of isolation, anxiety, and self doubt. These experiences shaped my approach to therapy: I aim to create a space where clients feel truly heard and understood.

I'm Allen, a second year Master's student in Columbia's MSW program. I specialize in working with people who feel lost, disconnected, or stuck, and who are searching for meaning in life. I draw from existential, narrative, and art therapy approaches, helping clients explore the big questions—what is the point of life, who am I, and how can I find purpose. My goal is for clients to leave our sessions feeling supported, empowered, and more connected to themselves.

Outside of sessions, I spend time journaling, reading philosophy, practicing yoga, and having deep conversations. I bring curiosity, compassion, and openness to every session, and I value exploring life’s questions alongside my clients.
