To Deliver Deeply Relatable, Affordable, and Personalized Care.
HUMAN CONNECTION IS THE MOST POWERFUL MEDICINE
we believe therapy should be both high-quality and accessible to everyone. We envision a space where therapy doesn't feel too clinical, intimidating, or sterile, but lighthearted and approachable, like talking to a friend.
Our Mental Health Care System Is Broken.
From skyrocketing demand to therapist burnout to a growing wave of therapists not accepting insurance due to our privatized health system, it’s painfully clear the old model isn’t working:
1. Youth Mental Health Crisis
2. Nationwide Therapist Shortage
And Now more than ever, our generation craves the kind of support that genuinely meets us where we're at
So we built Sol Health.
We’re Melinda and Gun—two former Stanford classmates turned co-founders who kept hearing the same story around us: our friends couldn’t find a therapist in-network, the university counseling center was notoriously unhelpful, and with the therapists we all tried, there was always some disconnect, whether it was some generational or cultural gap.
Melinda lost her brother to his battle with depression while they were both in college. This loss changed everything for her and the way she viewed mental health care. It had all felt so sterile and clinical. Her brother didn’t need another diagnosis, a list of labels, or another prescription. He needed someone who could truly understand him.
Gun’s own breakthrough came with his first therapist, who happened to be a therapist-in-training. He still calls her the best therapist he’s ever seen, crediting her higher affinity, cultural relatability, and that “just-gets-you” factor like when you meet a friend who just sees you for you. We noticed that these qualities were born from the diverse pool of therapists-in-training as a whole.
So we took a bet, started Sol Health, and have been building it fiercely for the last two and a half years. We're on a greater mission to solve both the youth mental health crisis and the therapist shortage—and build a generational mental health brand for the face of our inner worlds.
Meet The Next Generation of therapists
who deliver personalized, culturally competent care 🌊
Therapists-in-training (Intern-level therapists and Associate-level therapists) are a couple steps away from becoming licensed therapists. Those steps? They need a couple thousand clinical hours.
They're an overlooked pool of deeply qualified therapists who bring fresh clinical perspectives, diverse lived experiences, and deep cultural and generational fluency, yet the mental health industry has been burning them out early because they go unpaid, can't get their hours on time, and lack support when it matters most.
So we set out to give them an incredible provider experience they can’t get anywhere else:
• Paid clinical hours • 1-to-1 expert supervision from a licensed therapist at Sol Health • Deep training curriculum • A purpose-built platform that handles matching, scheduling, and outcome tracking so they can focus on delivering quality care • A supportive community of 200+ active and alumni therapists that keep them inspired, not burned out.
Nurturing this next wave of therapists means growing the workforce from the ground up and tackling the root of the nationwide therapist shortage. In turn, young people and adults alike get modern, holistic care that feels human—not sterile—at a price they can afford.
The result is a sunlit, three-sided ecosystem where people heal, licensed therapists give back by supervising at Sol Health, and therapists-in-training launch strong careers to become our future mental health providers.
