Stephanie Lai, LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker in New York State. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University at Buffalo and her Masters of Social Work at New York University. Stephanie began her career as a Bilingual (English and Cantonese) Psychotherapist at University Settlement's Article 31 mental health clinic. She then worked as a Mental Health Social Worker at Covenant House providing short-term counseling to homeless youths ages 16-21. Afterwards Stephanie worked at Partnership With Children as a Social Work Director, providing trauma-informed therapy and professional development trainings at a high school. Most recently, Stephanie was the Manager of Clinical Services at the New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, where she oversaw the clinical internship program, provided trauma therapy to children, and facilitated Court-ordered therapeutic supervised visitations for high risk families.
Stephanie is currently the Clinical Director at Hour Children, a nonprofit that provides services to incarcerated and previously incarcerated women and their children. Stephanie is fully trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Child Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI), and is currently attending a two-year training program for psychodynamic psychotherapy at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy.
