Pura Torres

Hi, I’m Pura. I’m a therapist-in-training and a Certified Peer Support Specialist with nine years of experience supporting individuals through anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. My work is rooted in a deep belief in client-driven recovery, collaboration, and the healing power of authentic connection. I believe in walking alongside clients on their journey, never in front, never behind.

I use a person-centered, strengths-based approach and often draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), while integrating other modalities depending on what feels most supportive for each individual. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and I honor the uniqueness of every person’s story and healing path.

I’m a native New Yorker, born to Hispanic parents and raised from age four to sixteen by an American family in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. These early cross-cultural experiences gave me deep empathic awareness and helped shape the inclusive, safe space I strive to create in the therapy room. I love working with individuals who are seeking to understand themselves more fully, process complex emotions, and step into their own strength.

Above all, I’m here to listen without judgment, support your growth, and help you feel seen and empowered. I look forward to meeting you.
