Hi, I’m Pura,

I’m a proud first-generation New Yorker with Hispanic roots who also grew up in a Mennonite family in Pennsylvania. Those early cross-cultural experiences taught me empathy, resilience, and the importance of safe spaces, values I carry into my work as a therapist-in-training.

Before becoming a counselor, I spent nearly a decade as a Certified Peer Support Specialist, walking alongside people navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I know these struggles personally too, I’ve faced my own battles with depression and anxiety, and those experiences taught me both humility and hope. They remind me that there isn’t one single path forward, which is why my approach is grounded in authenticity, collaboration, and the belief that healing happens in relationship.

In therapy, I take a person-centered, strengths-based approach, drawing from CBT, DBT, and other evidence-based practices, but most importantly, I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all healing. Every story is unique, and together we’ll find what feels right for you.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just want a space to slow down and breathe, I’m here to listen, without judgment, and help you feel seen, understood, and empowered.
