Hey! I'm Michael, and I'm super excited to be at therapist-in-training at Sol Health. I know how hard it can be to finally start looking for help, so a huge kudos to you for getting this far; you should already be really proud.
In the past, I've had the privilege of working with individuals dealing with substance use/addiction, depression, ADHD, trauma disorders such as PTSD, and many other mental health challenges. But as someone who has, himself, overcome anxiety and a severe stutter, I by far most enjoy helping folks stop anxiety from dictating their lives. I primarily use a combination of mindfulness with dialectical thinking, where we look at situations from multiple angles, noticing the emotions they generate within us, and frame these emotions as just part of our experience—not as commands which we have to obey. We'll also incorporate challenges to stretch your comfort zone further and further as time goes on.
I believe that it's extremely important to enjoy the adventure of accomplishing your goals. We'll talk to each other just like we're players on the same team.
When I'm not wearing my therapist hat, I love working as a personal trainer, playing poker, hiking, and spending way too much time debating ChatGPT on philosophy.I
truly hope I can be in your corner in your therapy journey.
Feel free to reach out! I don't bite...usually.
