Amber Hampton Greene

As a therapist-in-training, I am honored to accompany clients looking for a compassionate, empathetic, and pragmatic approach to therapy. My path to becoming a therapist is rooted in the strong belief that relationships are inextricably linked to our well-being and a strong desire to help people improve their relationships with themselves and others in a way that has a generational impact beyond our lifetime.

As a relational and systemic therapist, whether or not I am working with individuals, couples, expansive relationships, or families, I believe our lives are deeply influenced by our context and relationships. Depending on client needs, I draw from and integrate a range of therapy models, such as Emotionally Focused (EFT), Narrative, and Collaborative therapy. I also utilize aspects of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for tactical and pragmatic skill-building. Regardless of the model, my work with clients is always through a strengths-based, trauma-informed, affirming, and compassionate lens to help unlock each person’s inner resources, agency, and autonomy in making change.

I am in my last year of study in Antioch University in New England’s Couple and Family Therapy Master’s Program, and I previously earned a BA in Public Policy from Stanford University. Before transitioning into the mental health field, I spent over a decade working at the intersection of healthcare and technology. This career change was a weighty decision, years in the making, so I have personal experience with career change exploration and building the courage and self-compassion to make life changes. In my personal life, I love reading, working out, eating ice cream, watching TV/film that reflects human complexity and nuance, doing my part to make the world a better place for everyone, and hanging out with my husband, 5-year-old daughter, extended family, and neighbors.
