Siera Antmann

Hi there! My name is Siera, and I am a second-year master's degree student in the Mental Health Counseling program at Hunter College. I also received a BA in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Hunter College. I am a life-long New Yorker, raised in East Harlem. I identify as a mixed-race, cisgender Black woman. I am bilingual in English and Spanish.

Together, we would use our time in session to explore and execute methods to improve day-to-day life, support self-regulation of emotions, and enhance self-view. We will collaborate to develop tailored tools to help you manage new stressors and experiences. The techniques we use will be personalized to suit your needs, potentially including self-care, mindfulness, and reframing strategies. We may also delve into past or present traumatic events, childhood experiences, or ongoing challenges that could be impacting your daily life.

My therapeutic approach is psychodynamic and person-centered, with an emphasis on a narrative and trauma-informed approach. I employ supplemental interventions and modalities that best fit your needs and therapeutic goals, for an individualized treatment experience. It is important to me that you feel heard and understood.

My overall career focus is to bring accessible and affordable mental health care and other resources to BIPOC and underserved communities. My focus areas include trauma, anxiety and depression, autism spectrum disorders, LGBTQIA+, grief, and identity. I aspire to open my own private practice one day, and work within New York City public spheres, to provide accessible, quality bilingual services within communities like mine.
