Megan Pinzel

Therapist-in-training

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Megan. I am a therapist-in-training at Sol Health and am excited to begin working together! I would like to take a moment to introduce myself and share a bit about what you can expect as we begin sessions together.

I am a master’s degree student in the Mental Health Counseling program at City College of New York. I received an interdisciplinary degree in Science, Technology, and Society where I focused on Psychology, Sociology, and Cultural Studies at Farmingdale State College. I have previously interned in schools where I worked with populations experiencing anxiety and difficulties with life transitions. I also worked as an ABA therapist where I specialized in working with clients with developmental disabilities.

My primary modalities of therapy are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Adlerian Therapy. My therapeutic approach incorporates: mindfulness exercises to help with stress management, reducing stress and anxiety, overcoming depression, developing self-compassion, and creating a meaningful life for yourself. I believe in exploring an individual’s past and present while empowering them in a safe, non-judgmental, and collaborative space.

As I further my career, I would like to blend traditional talk therapy with a more artistically expressive therapy. I believe creative expression can be therapeutic itself while also leading to new insights.
