Helena Chang

Therapist-in-training

Hi, I’m Helena Chang, a second-year student at Columbia University's Master's of Social Work program. My approach is all about understanding the “why” behind the challenges you’re facing. By exploring your environment, past experiences, and childhood, we’ll uncover patterns and gain insight into what’s shaping your thoughts and emotions. This self-awareness becomes the foundation for meaningful growth and change.

Once we’ve built that understanding, we’ll work together to develop tools and skills that feel practical and empowering for you. I like to mix in strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to make sure we’re not just reflecting, but also taking action to help you feel more confident and in control.

My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, supported, and understood. We’ll work as a team to help you grow, heal, and move toward the life you want.
