Bailey Englert

Therapist-in-training

My name is Bailey, and I am a second-year master’s degree student in the School of Social Work at Simmons University. I received a BA in Psychology at New York University, and am currently based in New York.  I work closely with young adults navigating life's messy, in-between seasons- uncertainty, relationship shifts, self-doubt, or figuring out who you are and what you want. I know how overwhelming it can feel to start therapy, and my goal is to make it feel less intimidating and more like a conversation with someone who truly gets it. I use a down-to-earth, human approach, often drawing on humor that puts clients at ease while still doing meaningful, growth-oriented work.

I spent years as a hairstylist- an experience that shaped my belief in the power of being heard, seen, and supported without judgment. That space to be yourself informs how I am now in the therapy room: grounded, curious, and fully present.

In our work, we’ll draw on several approaches and techniques based on your needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), psychodynamic theory, mindfulness-based practices, and motivational interviewing. I support clients through anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship dynamics, life transitions, family issues, and self-esteem challenges. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, meaning every session is personalized to meet each client where they are.

To me, therapy is a space where you don’t have to have it all together. It’s a place to be real, ask questions, try new perspectives, and move at your own pace. I look forward to meeting you in session!
